Studio West was established in 1996, with major clients including Universal Studios, Paramount, Spelling, Columbia Tri-Star and Disney Channel, along with many US, Canadian, European and NZ independents who also continue to be important clients.

Studio West Ltd is one of the three facilities located in the merging Waitakere Film and Television precinct.How
NZ is a very economical location for film and television to be shot. Teams of talented production crew in all areas, as well as a diverse talent pool means that foreign production companies can hire the majority of its crew as well as many actors locally, thus maximizing the financial effects of shooting in NZ, along with the recent tax incentive programs introduced by the NZ Government, Auckland has been their preferred destination.
The longevity of the series has enabled Studio West to grow along with the series. Creating a tailor made complex incorporating offices, costume, make-up, art department buildings, prop making facilities, prosthetics, spray booths, green rooms, workshops, plus 3 acres of backlot.
